 Description
PT701 wireless pressure gauge is a LoRaWAN® wireless pressure transmitter monitors pressure in pipeline, water tank, fuel tank and other occasions. It reports pressure to cloud platform at a configurable time interval, and sends alarm message to platform when the pressure passes beyond alarm threshold or there is a variation in process pressure. The data is sent with LoRaWAN® communication technology which features long-distance communication and low power consumption.

The device can be configured with AT commands via on board TTY serial port. User can configure alarm threshold, network access method OTAA/ABP, network access parameters and etc.

With the corresponding gateway, the device can be connected with all kinds of network servers and IOT platforms,such as TTN, AWS and etc.

The battery-powered wireless pressure transmitter features a low-power design and has the characteristics of long communication distance, long battery life, high measuring accuracy, no wiring, and is widely used on wireless pressure monitor occasions.

The device offers all kinds of measuring ranges and process connectors according to customer’s requirement.

Screw antenna on the antenna connector. User can adjust the direction of the antenna to obtain a better signal strength.

 

1.2Mount the pressure measuring part

Unplug the connector between pressure measuring part and the transmitting part if necessary.

Mount the pressure measuring part on process pipeline or tank or any other object. The process port should be screwed tightly to make sure that no leakage will occur.

 

1.3Mount the transmitting part

The transmitting part can be mounted on walls or in equipment cabinet. When it is put in equipment cabinet, make sure that the cabinet is not signal shielded.

Connect the transmitting part with the pressure measuring part.

1.4Power on device

Press the button on the transmitting part to power on the device. The device performs self-test after power on. If the test passes, the red led on the button will blink in 5HZ for 3 seconds. If the test fails, the red led on the button will be lighted on for 3 seconds. The led will be lighted on for 10ms every 20 seconds when the device works.

1.5Replace battery

The battery should be replaced by planed regular maintenance. Following the procedure to replace the battery in the transmitting part.

  • Press the button on the housing to power off the device.
  • Unscrew the screws on the housing and open the transmitting part.
  • Unplug the connector of the used battery and take the battery out of the socket on board.
  • Place the new battery into the battery socket.
  • Plug the connecting header of battery into the socket on board.
  • Screw the cover back to the transmitting part. Make sure that the screws are screwed tightly to ensure the product protection level.
  • Recycle the used battery and make sure that it will not pollute the environment.

2Access network

2.1Choose gateway

The device will send data to LoRaWAN® gateway. A gateway is usually associated with several network servers. If user works with particular network server, make sure that the gateway is compatible with the particular network server.

For example, if user wants to work with TTN network server, then user should choose gateway that is compatible with TTN, such as TTIG gateway and etc.

2.2Access network mode

OTAA and ABP are both supported by PT701 User can configure access network mode and other network parameters via TTY serial port. It suggests that the mode and other parameters are configured in factory and users provide the necessary information when placing an order.

The DevEUI is printed on the label of the device.

2.3Connecting with AWS IOT

ATech provides full support for connecting ATech sensors with AWS IOT platform. User can contact ATech for technical support.

2.4Configure with TTY

User can configure the network accessing parameters and other parameters with TTY serial port on board. Unscrew the screws on the housing of the transmitting part and take off the cover. “TTY” port is 4-pin 2.54mm pitch pins with “TTY” characters printed beside it.

TTY is an UART serial port with 3.0V logic. The pin definition is as following.

VCC: On board Power for MCU, 3.0V typically.

Rx: UART-Rx

Tx: UART-Tx

GND: Common ground

Refer to the AT-command manual of the device on how to configure the device.

3Cautions

  • Make sure that the device is mounted in the signal coverage of a gateway. No data will be received if the device is out of range of the gateway coverage.
  • It is not recommended to judge left capacity of battery ER26500 by the measured voltage level, as it is hard to judge due to the working principle of Lithium thionyl chloride battery. Replace the battery by planed regular maintenance according to a theory model combing the sampling rate and the reporting interval.
  • Battery replacement should only be carried out by trained workers.
  • The device should be used within rated specifications. Any use out of rated specification may damage the device or degrade the performance of the device forever.
  • When the device is mounted outdoor, it is advised that the device is mounted under cover or in a cabinet for protect heavy rains.
  • The pressure transmitter can only be used to test medium which have no corrosion to its housing and seal.
  • Do not use sharp tools to clean the pressure hole at any time as it may damage the sensor inside.
